Earlier I wrote about the history of rotary dial phones. One of the things I didn’t mention in discussion vintage rotary phone history was how to dial the rotary phone.
It might seem simple to do, but apparently there was a time when receiving instructions on how to dial your rotary desk phone was important. It’s funny to think about now, but at some point the rotary phone was brand new, cutting edge technology and folks needed to learn how to use these crazy new dial phones.
Fortunately, the phone company thought that dialing the rotary phone might prove to be a problem for some users. So they put together this instructional video on how to dial a rotary phone.
