How many of us remember the classic black wall phone that hung prominently on our kitchen wall when we were a child? You remember it well, don’t you. The vintage rotary phone serviced the home for many years, and the phone cord was stretched out to great lengths and hung dangling below the phone. Often times it was the teenagers of the home that stretched the classic rotary phone cord to it’s limit as they tried to get some privacy in an area away from the bustle of the kitchen.

You can have a great looking retro black wall phone today! These new old style phones look just like the dial phones we remember. They are manufactured to work perfectly with today’s modern phone systems, too. This allows you to have the best of both worlds: vintage phone decor and a modern working telephone!

Product Description at Amazon.com

The Crosley 302 Phone returns to the wall in this Henry Dreyfuss tribute. Dreyfuss, considered a brilliant industrial designer, worked with Bell Telephone Laboratories designing telephones that were sensitive to consumers’ desire to suit a variety of home environments. Well known for the 302 style Desk Phone, he later shifted his design efforts to include this wall unit allowing consumers to walk with the phone while cradling it on their shoulder. This unified and balanced form replaced the awkward and ungainly shapes of earlier models. Would you believe Dreyfuss actually used measurements from over 2000 faces to determine the average distance between the mouth and ear? The Crosley 302 Wall Phone features the nostalgic rotary dial but actually functions with push button technology. No more waiting for that rotary dial to make its excruciating slow rotation.

Customer Review from Amazon.com

This phone was purchased for my wife to go in our vintage inspired red kitchen. It is perfect. As noted in other reviews, the handset is fairly heavy. If I were rating this phone for every possible negative I would also note that there is this annoying tether that connects the handset to the wall. However, this is not a big negative because we already have a set of cordless phones for use around the house. They are used for long conversations as we can take them into the room with the sofa and lay around conversing for hours while our servants fan us and feed us grapes.
